The contract, in consortium with China Railway Signal & Communication Corp (CRSC), was awarded by the Pakistan Railways (PR) with Bombardier’s share amounting to approximately 278 million SEK (27 million euros or $38 million US) (full value is approximately 410 million SEK (41 million euros or $57 million US). Leading the consortium, RCS will deliver the system for the 328 km line which includes 23 stations. The scope will include EBI Lock 950 computer-based interlocking (CBI) and EBI Screen 2000 control centre systems. Securing this contract is an important achievement for Region 5 and for RCS. This is the first in the planned upgrade of the Karachi-Lahore line to modernise the signalling systems in Pakistan and will be the first electronic interlockings to be delivered in Pakistan. This not only provides a solid basis for future projects in Pakistan, but is also further testament to our global delivery of our INTERFLO 200 mainline system.
