The factory is located in Lahore. It is spread over an area of 3750 square meters. The construction started in June 1995 and the commercial production commenced in May 1996. The factory is equipped to produce in excess of 200,000 telephone sets per annum on a single shift basis. The production facilities are planned for ample expansion, as and when required, with respect to both the area and number of shifts.
Pakistan Communications Industries’ strong relationships with its customers including Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited guarantees a cutting edge over potential competition and a steady stream of orders, thus promising long-term viability of the company. Business partnership with other established bulk consumers and a strong marketing drive aimed at large multinational companies engaged in installation of telephone exchanges on turn-key basis, has further strengthened market share.
In order to diversify, the management is investigating allied areas of manufacturing like caller’s line identification, both as a stand alone unit and built-in facility, cellular phones and PABX’s etc. Pakistan Communications Industries, in accordance with the market demand, will introduce new product lines. This strategy is expected to keep the company ahead of competition at all times.
