Panasian Group Timeline

1970s

Launched PG's Commercial Transportation

In the 1970s, we launched PG's commercial transportation business by developing and introducing the first and to date the largest urban transportation system for the city of Lahore with our partner Volvo Bus. The project included 650 Volvo city buses along with comprehensive route network planning and transfer of bus body-building technology.

Late 70s

Partnered with Ericsson

We partnered with Ericsson in the late 70s to introduce digital technology in Pakistan by planning and executing the first digital exchange. Around the same time, we also became the first in the country to implement Electronic Centralized Traffic Control to the rail industry at Pipri marshalling yard.

1990

Introduced Mobile Communications

Strengthening our partnership with Ericsson with another first-in-Pakistan project, in 1990, we introduced mobile communications in the country by supplying, installing and maintaining both Paktel and Instafone Mobile Networks.

Early 90s

Panasian Group Signed up for a joint-venture with VOLVO

The 80s and early 90s saw the induction of about a 1,000 modern turbo-diesel Volvo trucks in the long-haul and road-construction segments. Another special milestone was achieved in 1996 when the Panasian Group signed up for a joint-venture with Volvo, proudly becoming the first in recent history to set up a European-Origin assembly plant in Pakistan for Volvo Trucks.

2000s

Pioneered Pakistan's first Computer Based Interlocking (CBI)

During the 2000s, we pioneered Pakistan's first Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) Signaling System for Pakistan Railways across the country with our partner Bombardier.

2013

BRT Project

The onset of the current decade was proudly marked by the Panasian Group's advent into the BRT business as it conceptualized and executed the model for the Rapid Bus Transit Systems in Pakistan. Following the groundbreaking launch and success of the BRT project in Lahore in 2013, the projects were then replicated in Islamabad and Multan. To date we have supplied all of the 189 metro buses that collectively help nearly half a million passengers commute safely and easily on a daily basis.

2018

Introduced Electromobility

Most recently, in 2018, the Panasian Group became the first company in Pakistan to introduce Electromobility to the commercial automotive industry. By introducing Plug-in Hybrid Electric Buses to the Peshawar BRT project, we have truly demonstrated our ambition for not only creating value for our customers, but also for respecting our environment by conserving natural resources.
